During the month of December 1989, after six years of Christian formation with Monsignor Joseph James, Henry and Mary Constancio followed what they believed to be a calling by the Holy Spirit to evangelize. It was at that time that Henry and Mary took hold of the graces, blessings, and teachings they had received from faith, and by the power and strength of the Holy Spirit, founded the Ambassadors of the Flame of Mercy (AFM).
In 1991 the Ambassadors moved to its current location in Shallowater, Texas, formed a small Christian community and was incorporated in 1995 as a 501(c) (3) tax-exempt religious organization.
Bringing Healing and Families Together in Christ!
The Ambassadors of the Flame of Mercy is families ministering to families through our witness in Jesus Christ. Our daily walk is to bring about the Good News of the Gospel - that each person we meet might discover the healing mercy of God today in their lives. Our community is able to provide assistance to those in need, whether it is for a physical need such as substance abuse, or for a spiritual need, the Ambassadors of the Flame of Mercy is ready to help.
Our AFM community is located in Shallowater, Texas on four acres of land. Visitors will find a small retreat center, a private prayer chapel, a prayer and mediation garden, administrative offices, a gift shop, and dorms that will sleep up to fifty-four people during retreats and large events. Also, a large pavilion with its grassy mall was built particularly for celebrating the Feast of the Assumption, and it is used for other community events such as retreats.
